Shelter

wo family units of buildings have been constructed on the EWCV site. Each unit accommodates 24 children and their house parents. Our goal is that at least 10 such family compounds will eventually be constructed, each accommodating 24 children.

A family unit consists of four huts, a dining/fellowship hut, a house for the acting parents, a kitchen, bathing units, and outdoor latrines. The cost of one such family unit of buildings is approximately $50,000 CAD. The EWCV buildings have solar electricity, and water is piped in from the nearby town of Lukaya. A well is being drilled on the property.

The 24 children in Family #3, along with their house parents, live at Bill and Ann’s rented home in Soweto, Masaka.  They will join the other two families of children at the EWCV site when housing for them is completed.
